EVE (Experimental Video Evening) at Bloc Projects, Sheffield

November 2017

Fine Art Exhibition Curated by Stu Burke

EVE (Experimental Video Evening) is an open platform for artists to exhibit new and innovative video works.

For EVE, artists responded to an open call which stated “All aspects of video and sound art will be considered.”, with the curator setting no limitations on creative processes.

20 artists have been selected to exhibit, showcasing the eclectic mix that the medium has to offer.

The exhibition, a one night only event, looks to present new and exciting works as well as questioning the norms of exhibiting video and new media.

Curator, Stu Burke, brings his installation and sculptural practice to the forefront of his curatorial concepts for this exhibition. Stu Burke asks “How can viewers be more engaged with video rather than passively spectating.” Following on from research he has done, examining the imposition of sculpture on the spectator, he applies this knowledge to the curation of EVE, bringing a new energy to Bloc Projects as well as to the curation of video.
